I got tired of WOW and MTG Online yesterday and decided I'd play Civ4 some. I thought id come online and see if anyone made a good fantasy mod yet as it has been a year or so since I looked.

HOLY CRAP!!

You guys have done for this game what I wish someone could do for MMORPGs! This is an amazingly intelligent and gripping upgrade to the game. I for one think they should fire the entire development staff at Firaxis and sell the franchise to you guys. Because you would sell a LOT more games!!

This is bar none the best dev effort I have EVER seen for a game. The music and art are beautiful. The delayed rush to religion the slower pace on normal mode. The nearly infinite number of alternative builds.

Did I mention I really liked this mod? I will be paying attention to you guys. So I can say I met you before you got all rich and famous. Unless of course you already are.

I have only had 1 day to play the game and work is now pissing me off.

BTW I would be happy to pay you guys for this development. Even if it just buys Mountain Dew to keep you up and coding.

I am that red spot of Gorbachev's forehead and Im pretty sure Woodelf is Rhea Perlman in real life. So we are both famous, but I don't know about the rest of the team.

I'm not famous but I would like to have some Mountain Dew !

I went from lusting after Rosie O'Donnel to being Rhea Perlman!

No Dew for me, but French Vanilla coffee is always welcome. :coffee:

Coca... Coooooola...

ya just started to play this mod last week and am luvin it so far.

top class work Kael and the dev team. its gr8 to see such freely given commitment for something that we can all enjoy.

havent tried fhf2 yet, but 1 is gr8. youve heard all the good things already so im not reapeating that here.

one thing i think u could really use is a website tho. the 300 page general thread is very intimidating for me, and much of it irelevent as it relates to early beta versions of a game. this is by no means a critisim of yourself or the mod, merely an observation on the oustanding growth in the game.

to cut to the point, i can clearly see massive work going on in the dev team and between the dev team and the public, however i see no clear plans for a website. might i be so bold as to inquire what are your plans for such?

No plans in the near term. I have thought about writing some scripts so that the editor writes to html instead of just xml and automatically keeps websites for us.

The reason its not improtant right now is:

1. We have civfanatics here to meet and share ideas! The 300 page thread was a bunch, but now that we have our own forum its much more manageable.

2. With FfH2 constantly in flux as we work on it we dont want to spend much time documenting details which are just going to change in the next version anyway. It is still a very beta product so it doesn't make much sense to document it.

If someone was willign to create a website for FfH1 I would love to see it. Im sure we could even some server space to host it as well.

Have fun - the complimentary canapeés are over there, behind Woodelf's back.

Who, me, dogpile? I must defend my honour! En garde, you cad! *draws really, really big sword*
