New Game Question

Hi all,

I have this problem, wondering if anyone can help me out. Recently i formated my PC and reinstall Civ 3, now when I try to begin new game, none of the civilizations had the initial advances (ie Rome should have Masonary, Warrior Code) and all the civilization dont have its qualities (Industrious etc)

Is there some settings I missed out?

It sounds like you've got the 'allow civ specific abilities' turned off. On plain Civ III, it's a check box on the 2nd screen you see when starting a new game (the one where you pick your civ.) I don't think there's any way to switch back without starting a new game, so if you've been playing one for a while, you may want to just go ahead and finish.
