Just updated my system

Had a Asus Radeon 7000 card earlier and installed a new Asus N7000GS nVidia card.

All other games looks just fine but Civilization IV and Warlords won't function corectly. I have updatet Windows, directX, my drivers and BIOS but it still looks like crap. The game flows perfect, but the I won't get rid of the grapics problem in any way. I have tried different settings but it just won't go away. Here's what it looks like:

If the software is fine, how about power? Is the new card getting enough from the PSU - I'm not familiar with that card though so I don't know what the power spec is for it. Could be worth checking though.

  1. Check and make sure your computer is getting enough power from the PSU when under load.
  2. Check and make sure your motherboard, CPU, and/or video card isn't overheating while under load.

Do so quickly. If you are having either of these problems, you could have an impending hardware failure of some sort.

Have you tried using another video card? maybe there's something wrong with it, although you mentioned it only happens with civ.

Hi there -- First off -- I know exactly what you are going through. I have an Asus N6600, and when I first played CIV IV I put it on all high res without a problem. I then updated my video driver, and BOOM your symptom happened. It usually starts with the water textures, then works itself to be a flury of randomness. It reminds me of watching a video that hasn't completely downloaded yet via VLAN player.

I reinstalled windows xp, and left the default driver installed, and never had the same problem again, until I bought my 22" monitor. I thought to myself I would give it another go, and update my drivers again, and BAM!! it happened again.

If I lower my game resolution, or change my screen resolution in windows it goes away for a while, but its really annoying. SO -- MY Solution?? I'm getting off of Asus GPU and going after someone ATI.
