New guy: Installing Bts (store bought) from Civ4 (D2D), help.

Sorry, first time reader. When attempting to install it says "intall aborted".

Has anyone seen this before? Im sorry if this has been asked before but I am not that technical.


Clarification I bought Civ4 (orginal) from Direct 2 Drive,,,,,,,,,,,,,Trying to install a store bought BTS

Kinda stuck here....really want to play beyond the sword. I lost my 1st disk of Civ4, now that I have a new computer I cant install Beyond the sowrd. So I went to by it on direct to Drive. But the store bought Beyond the sword cancels instillation while looking for the new version (patch) of civ4.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The different sources' games are often incompatible. I know that's not welcome news.
Keep checking with Firaxis/D2D to see if they can offer some solution.

Thanks for the reply. I got frustrated and bought the download version of BTS. Waste of money, but I value time. Lets see if it works.

The retail BTS should install over the D2D vanilla Civ4. Make sure that your Civ4 is patched up to the latest version, 1.74, before installing BTS. Also remember that retail patches are not compatible with D2D's versions and that you must get the patches for the games from D2D.

went from civ 4 CD to warlords D2D and now am trying for BTS CD... but to no avail. I downloaded the latest patch and it still says I need a newer version then aborts when it tries to download.
