Hi, I'm new to these forums.

I've enjoyed playing serious chess since high school. I'm familiar with the algebraic notations, so I'm prepared to play anyone who's willing.

How about it? PM me by Windows Messenger. I'm known as Myzenium there, too.

Of course, you could also post your consent here.

A positional game? Suits me. ;)

response one: Is there any other kind?
response two: No. A strategic game!
response three: Careful; your book knowledge is showing:)
response four: Aw! don't let everyone know.

Pleased to meet you. Here's to a good game.

Uh, good to meet you too. :)

Not currently. I was among the best players in high school. Then after I graduated, I played a little at a local chess club. Today, when I want to play, I open IE and play at Zone.com. :)

I had stopped for a few years but started up season before last again. Now, because of the complications locally with semi-merged clubs, I seem to be playing for three clubs this season! My league games are in division one and results are hard to come by:)

Nice.

I see that you're not rated in this forum. Is this your first game here?

I've studied CIS three years. I plan to change my major to CS or pursue a 16-credit-hour certificate in IT.

Your occupation is "something boring in computers". Does that mean you dislike your job?

I have to admit to being a little off-beam there. Truth is I am not so interested in the techie bits anymore and my job limits how much I can develop in things like service management disciplines and quality management which are far more interesting and can greatly be applied in much wider areas than just IT services.

Well you have avoided my favourite line, so I don't know how this game will go now:)

Do you plan to re-educate yourself or find a different job? (You can answer that question after you leave work. No need to have your supervisor see the answer to that question.)

Oh I don't use work computers. This is all from home.
The funny thing is the work has retrained me. I successfully implemented ISO9002 for three sections about five years ago and I have the ISEB (ITIL) certificate in IT service management. It's just that they seem happier to keep everything in firefighting mode all the time.

Coolness. Of course, I don't know anything about ISO9002 or ISEB. :)

look here for ITIL: http://www.itsmf.com/index.asp

ISO9000 is the international quality management standard against which an organization can measure its management processes.

The moves are getting harder; I may slow down very soon.
