See it right here (should be near the top on this main page for a while).

No gameplay footage. I didn't really catch anything new. Except that it sounds like you do still choose where to build roads, what tiles. That you don't just say [road between X city and Y city].

Or the fact that they clearly intend to have new Civs as overpriced DLC in the future instead of properly priced complete expansion packs. Yay.

PS: I've been watching Spoony and Angry Joe for a long time now. Clearly some of the best videogame-related videos on the internet.

The only thing Dennis said was "my lips are sealed". ;)

Rough transcript of the last few moments of the video (on DLC):
Interviewer said:
What about DLC, new civilizations via DLC?
Dennis said:
My lips are sealed.
Interviewer said:
Ok, uh...come on give me something...don't make me angry now...Ok well I'll tell you what, if there was hypothetically DLC would these new civilizations get new CGI leaders and would they have their own AIs? Would that seem logical to do?
Dennis said:
It would be logical...it would be logical...it would be amazing to see the kind of things that are announced by 2K in the future, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Well, :):):):) (yeah, always stay happy). Stupid, stupid, stupid move that is going to cost them a lot of gamers...

I see Spoony's interviewing techique has improved since the Kristanna Loken incident.

Anyway, that there is no espionage is no suprise. However it sounds almost like you can pirate trade routes, like you could in call to power. That would be fun at least.

That wasn't a confirmation of, or even a hint at, DLC. What does piss me off though, is they won't just say yes or no. They want my extra 10 dollars for deluxe before they let me know "oh, and you can also buy Babylon alone for 2 bucks."

Who says it will be overpriced DLC? The CGI Art work for a new civ costs alot of money and time to produce, so selling it for $10 would hardly qualify as overpriced.

And they have never said there would not be Expansion Packs so don't jump to conclusions.

And moving to another topic, well done to the MP testers that got a nice nod from Dennis for their hard work in this interview.

In comparison to the original game, it is waaaaaay overpriced. Even a 0.50 would be way overpriced.

The deluxe edition also has a soundtrack and some behind the scenes footage. You aren't paying $10 just for the civ, more like $5-6.
Also, of course DLC is never going to be as good of a 'value' when compared to the base game. The DLC is optional for those who actually want said civilization. The base game just gives you 18 civs, DLC gives you the option of an extra one. See the difference?

Of course I do, but Canucksoldier said it wasn't overpriced. I said it was. DLC will always be overpriced. Always and ever. Because, who would sell DLC for less than 0.01 cent, which is impossible but whatever?

Well of course it will be priced higher, but that's more to do with the lower demand for DLC. Since the market for DLC will always be smaller than the market for the base game, the price has to be higher to turn the profits that they want/need to make it viable.

Who said that DLC has to come at any price at all? It could very well be FREE (except major expansions).

Well, I bet it won't be. But it would be nice...

so could double bacon cheeseburgers be FREE! but they are not!

that more DLC is coming up is no surprise to me. it's the road 2k/firaxis chose to take.

what does surprise me is that there are optimists out there, who honestly believe, that the civ5 deluxe edition is the end of DLC for civ5 :crazyeye:

If I want to look at something pretty I'll go to an art museum. I'm buying a game, what I want is good game play.

This argument about the actual worth of DLC and whatnot has already gone full circles about 23 times in various threads so we should probably not start it here again, just go and argue in these other threads where me and a bunch of other people have been complaining about DLC hell.

I was just pointing out that, to me, Shirk's reaction to AngryJoe's DLC question spelled doom for my crusade against DLC.

I'm still not understanding why people are taking this as DLC confirmation. All he said, when proded into doing so, is that if they were to make DLC, yes it would make sense to have leader animations for those civs just like the civs already included.

Seriously, we can see that DLC is where civ headed, but the confirmation you're looking for isn't here.

Well, this sure does confirm our worst fears (:P), even though they don't say it. Don't be so optimistic, being pessimistic (or actually, realistic) is far better. :P
