Hi!

I just bought my first iPod today (iPod shuffle) and I love that small thing!

What I like less is iTunes.
I have around 4800 songs in Windows Media Player wich I have to move to iTunes so it can be converted. I don't have any problem with it beside the fact that it takes a long long time.

About midway through the process I had to turn off my computer because I was installing a program for my DVD burner. When I turned the computer back on and tried to continue the conversion of my songs in iTunes, the program started back with the first songs.

So now I have two copies of some songs and I can't find a way to stop the conversion of the songs already done and jump to the ones who weren't.

Am I just a moron (wich is a possibility)?

It took forever to convert the first half on my songs and now I have to do it all over again, it sucks.

I need the help of our resident geniuses.

What do you mean that you have to convert your music? Are your files WMVs that need to be converted to MP3s or are you just trying to setup your music library in iTunes' default library folder?

If it's the latter, all you need to do is point the default library folder to wherever your songs are located right now and not need to worry about converting them.

If however you need to convert them all to MP3 files, then you're pretty much going to have to deal.

Check out www.ipodlounge.com for everything iPod and all questions / FAQs related. Don't post on their forums before reading the FAQs or searching the threads, otherwise you they will banter you for not having done a little reading before hastily posting.

So I guess I have to deal then. It's going to take at least two days but if I have to...

It's ridiculous that I can't decide where I want the coversion to start and avoid to convert songs more than once.
It sucks.

Thanks anyways for your input and for the link, seems usefull.
