Some people requested it. Here it comes : Europe and the Mediterranean during ice-age.

Great for a human/neandertal scenario...! Theres a kilometre of ice where i am on the map!

Your maps look really good, Mr. Walloon! ;)

Cool map. you must have done a fair bit of research to get the geography right! I salute you! :hatsoff:

As I am a geologist, it was quite easier. If you can make the geological map of Shiehallion within four days, you can map a map of ice-age Europe for civ ;)

This is cool like TLC I have no use 4 it but why have a fertile sahara and not a fertile Arabia?

There are evidences about a fertile Sahara during ice-age. But I found no evidence ( in papers I mean ;) ) about a very fertile Arabia. f I get some, I'll change the map :D

Ressources are randomly placed. I didn't check it.

About the river. Well, it's an interesting suggestion. Actually, we know that the Black Sea was much lower than the Mediterranean. When the sea level rose, water finally found a way through what is not Bosphorus, and filled the Black Sea like a river from a lake to another one. But it seems this phenomenon came after ice-age and was very short. We have good evidences of it.

So should we place a coast tiles, river or ground tiles ? It depends on the moment you choose to place your scenario :
- before Black Sea filling ( no river )
- during Black Sea filling ( river )
- after Black Sea filling( coast tiles )

I makes me realize Black Sea is much too large on my map :mischief:

Actually, an idea for you: if you want to have no resources present on the ice, just cover all the tundra with ocean, regenerate the resources, and then put back the tundra. A simple idea, but it should work. :)

No. Gibraltar is 300m deep. The seel level was "only" 140m at the maximum of the glaciation.

But it reminds me I didn't lock two straits in the Mediterranean. Thanks :)

very nice map-tried doing something like this a few times, but never worked, so thanks

A North American ice-age map would be awesome. (Not that I'm totally hinting anything :mischief:). Though, this one is really good, so I am satisfied with just playing this one. Nice job.

I checked a couple of sources I have on ancient resources in the Mid East, and there just does not seem to be any evidence for a fertile Arabia Desert. Maybe a bit more fertile right along the Red Sea coast, but nothing further inland. I need to put your map in my Windows editing box to look it over more closely. If I have any suggestions, I will pass them on to you.
