New patch turn time speed

Not really a bug, but an observation.
As soon as the new patch appeared I started an old save game. Times between turns were very short (like 1-2 sec) on turn 100.
When I started a new game turn times are back to old duration of about 10 sec (at about turn 100) ? Can someone explain this behavior? I know that there are a lot of factors, but games are made with same settings.

The initial patch had a glitch that caused all the AI turns to run simultaneously, triggering lightening quick turn times but conflicts galore, including problems with the diplo screens. The patch-to-the-patch fixed it.

fast turns were bad side effect, especially since it put additional pressure onto your CPU.
