Thunder you forgot to add:

* You want to throw your computer off of your balcont coz it wont let you play MP!

that would be my answer!!

I don't quite fit any of those possible answers. But civ works wonders in the procrastination department.

I had to say nothing, because you didn't put any positive things in the poll. I met many cool and fun people here and elsewhere through civ.

But for once I'll spare my time to reply

For me it's:"Courage, Genghis, unlock that bedroom door and try to go out once in your life!"

Based on the comments so far,I'd say the outlook for tomorrow's world is bleak.
It'll be run by a bunch of uneducated militarists

Back in the day civ gave me some problems. Sometimnes I'd play it instead of studying, but that never really materialized into a serious problem. I was still able to scrape most of my exams and pass the classes. *On my way to Magna cum Laude.

Other than a sore a** from this damn chair, there is no adverse affect of my love for civ.

Civ is one of the best things that could've happened in my life, It has helped enable me to learn lessons in life that I would have otherwise never seen, That goes for history in general also.

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Civilization. A disaster. My scores on tests droped about 1.5 points (1-10) from a 8.5 to a pitty 7.0, but I survived, and the avarge is up to an 8.0, now.

Here's a hypothesis:

Newton's Theorem. Let X be a CivFanatic. Then X must be an insomniac.

Proof: Since X is a CivFanatic, X must play Civ in a compulsory fashion. By definition, this means X attempts to complete a full game in one sitting (possibly followed by another game of Civ!

). The average Civ game lasts at least 5 hours. (Note: This estimate is the lower bound for the variable.) Therefore, X must stay at the computer for at least 5 hours at a stretch.

X will have a difficult time consistently blocking out 5 hours for play at school or work. However, the only constraint X faces when playing at home is his/her tolerance for eyestrain, drowsiness, and a sore rear end. X must build up a resistance to these effects, or else X would fail to continue to be a CivFanatic, because playing time would decrease. And by definition, the development of resistance to these effects is equivalent to the development of insomnia. Therefore, if X is a CivFanatic, X must also be an insomniac. Q.E.D.

Besides, who needs sleep anyway?

So what does everybody else think?

Too complicated for me
smile.gif

Of course, you've well deserved your name, Isaac Newton, but you theory is useless and redundant, since there's no Civ addicted who is sleeping more than 4.5 hours per night. At least that's my case
smile.gif
. True.

Civ is one of the best things that could've happened in my life, It has helped enable me to learn lessons in life that I would have otherwise never seen, That goes for history in general also.
Wrong. Civ is one of the worst mankind creation. Such as nukes, it has been created to destroy... our social life

But perhaps as you said it helps learn history. Now I now that Genghis K and the mongol civilization built the Apollo project in 1876

Well I actually have not noticed any of the Disorders as mentiond by Sir Isaac Newton, but on a psychological note, my mind wanders out on how to control the world as a leader of my country. First to Invade and control Pakistan, unleash a virus attack on the US, drench China and SE Asia with drugs and destroy the "flower of youth", you get the idea. Well for a start I must polish my strat with civ2. So bye for now.

1. my grades dropped on average by 8% (20% for French!)

2. First time I fell asleep in public was followed by numerous accounts of dosing in class.

3. I have no life. (j/k)

4. I'm forgetting dates.

5. I'm growing fat.

6. My eyes are getting worse. I now sometimes wear glasses.

7. The list goes on.

The worst (best) game I ever played, I came home from school, played till dinner, went right back to it after dinner, played all night, constantly looking at my watch, stopped playing in time to shower and go to school.

Then I came back and played during lunch

I'm pretty sure I won. That was a few years ago now.
