New problem I haven't seen before

I have a new problem that has recently been happening. In the middle of playing the game it will minimize and it seems the longer I play the more often it begins to happen. Anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

It may be that another program is grabbing focus. Try shutting down anything running in the background (look at your taskbar to find some common ones). I'd also suggest disabling your net connection (if you aren't doing mp, of course), your firewall, and your antivirus program (but only when your connection is down).

Also, run a check for spyware if you haven't recently (Ad-Aware, Spybot: Search & Destroy, or MS AntiSpyware Beta, as examples). It is possible that a hidden program is what is grabbing focus, which is why it just seems that the program minimizes.

Oh, and be sure you aren't pressing Alt-Tab by mistake when playing.

Any other symptoms? eg slow play, slow save game times, slow time between turns etc

Have you changed map size to a larger one? maybe "Large" or "Huge"

At what point in the game doyou notice the changes, is it around the 1600s to 1800s ?

Is it - as such - stable in the early part of the game?
