Once I finish with my American Civil War Scenario later today, I'll be starting several new projects.

1. World War I.

2. The Mediterranean, as of about 270 BC.

3. World Conquest, circa 2037 AD, a scenario in which Luxembourg faces many challenges in its attempt to rule the world, after the chaos of WWIII, and the rise of Antarctica as a world power.

With Luxembourg and Antartica as world powers I think it needs to be more like the year 2237 AD

WWI :)

It doesn't look like have to help this one. :p
But World Conquest does sound pretty cool though.
I predict a tight race.

Ok, I'll go into a little detail about the plot, so you can better understand it, bombshoo.

In 2030AD, World War III begins when a crazy mad dictator takes control of Japan and attacks China. This action sets off a chain of alliances, and since most of the world powers have nukes, most of the world is destroyed. In 2034AD, the United States finally defeats Japan, and the dictator is killed. However, the dictator's son manages to flee to Antarctica with a good sized amount of the dictator's army. By 2037AD, his forces have been built up there to impressive strength, and using the mountainous terrain to his advantage, the dictator's son declares to the world that he intends to conquer it by force, succeeding where his father failed. The world powers, wary from World War III, begin to squabble among themselves and soon the entire world is on the brink of war, every man for himself.

That's the jist of it...I've had this concept in mind for a game and/or book for quite a few years...just never had the opportunity to make use of it till now.

As for Luxembourg, its not a world power by any means...they will start with 1 city. Their job will be to hold out against all odds, use diplomacy, and have the larger powers knock each other out while they hop in on the spoils.

Sorry, but I'll have to go with the Great War. It requires the attention-to-detail that your ACW scenario has; on the other hand it would probably be the harder of the three.

Well, all 3 of these scenarios would have careful attention to detail, as in the case of the ACW scenario (hoping to finish it today). Though all 3 of them, I probably will be borrowing a map or two, as I haven't found websites to accurately plot latitude/longitude for even Canada...let alone the world. And it'd be alot more tedious as well.

I will be working on all 3, but concentrating more on the one with the highest poll total. Of the 3, World Conquest will most likely take the longest (by far), but also will be the most unique. I can tell you now that there probably will be over 500 different units in WC. The other two, I would say the Mediterranean one will take the least amount of time, probably longer though than ACW.

Will post more details soon, and answer questions/comments as appropriate.

I think you should do: World Conquest, circa 2037 AD

Be sure and look over my American Civil War scenario on a thread here as well, to see the quality (or lack of, depending on whatever your opinion is) of my work. Its almost finished, I'm throwing in the finishing touches inbetween postings.

Looks like WWI so far is in the lead, followed by WC. Later today I'll be posting more in-depth as to what I have planned for each.

The World War I scenario will have 16 Nations, which will be the following:

France (which will include Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia)
United Kingdom (which will include Egypt and Ireland)
German Empire
Austria-Hungray
Ottoman Empire
Russian Empire
Italy (including Libya)

Belgium
Rumania
Serbia
Bulgaria
Portugal
Greece
Albania

Neutrals (everything else in Europe)

In order to prevent the Neutrals from being assaulted, (except by an idiot),and to keep them from attacking, they will be unable to build new units, and their units will be immobile, with very high A/D.

This will be a European scenario, with North Africa and part of the Middle East included.

Map is still to be determined, looking to borrow one if possible.

Units will be done similar to the way I did them for the American Civil War scenario, with each country having several unique units.

Cities will be placed with the accuracy done in the American Civil War scenario, as much as possible.

Information on the other two will be posted soon.

The Mediterranean circa 270 BC scenario will have the following nations: (not a concrete list as of yet)

Rome
Macedonia
Greek City-States
Carthage
Seleucid Empire
Egypt
Dacia
Gauls
Bithynia
Numidia
Spaniards (I know they weren't called this...will update it when I find out their real name for this time period)

there will be more listed as I do more research into this.

The map will include most of Europe and North Africa, as well as part of the Middle East (similar to the WWI scenario, could be same map).

Like the WWI scenario, still looking to borrow a map if possible.

Units will be done similar to the way I did them for the American Civil War scenario, with each country having several unique units.

Cities will be historical to fit with the time period, using their actual names of said time period, and placed as accurately as possible.

There will be a variety of units, to add more realism to the time period and to the scenario.

Techs will be more diverse than in the ACW and WWI scenarios, providing for more than one path to victory or dominance.

The map used will be adjusted if I find a map of the time period, using the coastlines of that time period rather than the present-day one.

World Conquest, circa 2037 AD will have the following nations: (not a concrete list as of yet)

Human:

Luxembourg

AI:

Antarctica

Germany
France
United Kingdom

United States
Canada

Brazil
Argentina

China
Japan

Iran

Nigeria
Egypt

Australia

Lesser Powers (everything else)

Russia is not represented as a major power because one, it'd be too big, and two, it was completely wiped out by Japan during World War III.

The map will be a world map, modified some to include antarctica in more fuller form.

Looking to borrow a map if possible.

There will be a MASSIVE amount of unique units, not only for each major power, but also for alot of the lesser powers as well (IE, Algeria, Morocco, Mexico, and Italy all will have unique units, within the lesser powers).

The Lesser Powers will be unable to produce new units, but will have varying strengths of units which will be immobile.

Most cities will be placed according to their modern-day placement, as well as a few new cities to increase the fictional realism of the time period (2037 AD).

There will be A LOT of techs to develop, including futuristic ones. (techs will start though about the time of WWI/WWII, as alot of the newer tech was destroyed by WWIII)

Units will be made in Division/Corps/Army format, but will have different versions of each, with extra HP for the larger sizes, instead of the Civ3 "army" format (which I used in the ACW scenario). Naval and Air units will be in similar format.

I will be starting these in the next couple of days, once I can get a map or two.

Decided to create my own maps instead. Will post screenshots to show progress.

Concerning WW1 map:
Will you include the Caucasian and Iraq fronts?

Will the scenario be realistic (stalemate) or what-if (mobile war)?
The old wargame "The Guns of August" (Avalon Hill) became
very popular despite that many people thought WW1 were a "hopeless" subject.

Yes, those fronts will be included. (just like in my ACW scenario, New Mexico/Colorado is included)

I'm probably going to make it a what-if war, as I want it to start in about August, 1914 or so. The "realistic" way of doing it, would require starting in late 1914/1915, though on the eastern front it wasn't exactly a stalemate.

Fortifications will be easy to build and will be fairly strong, so a stalemate is possible.

I am really looking forward to this scenario.
Sounds very interesting.

...and I agree with you: eastern front sure not was a stalemate.

I hope you choose August 1914 as start date.

I'm doing the world map first (or at least starting it now), here is a screenshot from the editor, of the outline of australia.
