New red dead content reaching Standard game?

Hi everyone!

After seeing the Livestream (It was super fun, I laughed a lot) I was wondering if they will use some of the content shown in the regular game.

I already read some threads about adding the zombies, aliens, and that would be quite fun for some game modes or Apocalypses mode, but I was wondering if the same would happen in the "standard" game.

I mean, for example a land unit that act like some kind of ninja or “guerrillero” that could have the stealth ability of the aliens.

I know that explorer units have the "camouflage" promotion but I'm referring more to an unit just dedicated to these kind of actions or a civ centered on that (like Vietnam or something like that).

is just a silly example, but the point is the same; will some of these additions be added to the standard game?

After the general feeling about this patch being underwhelming, I cannot take out the idea they indeed are using RDS2 as a test ground for things they want to implement later... but it may be just a consolation tought. who knows?
 
At the very least someone might be able to use the code for modding

Yeah.. it seems that I'm the only one that is "okay" with the patch notes. I think is just the first one and they will put more meat in the next to come.

But about this patch... being so centered on Read Dead, I have the feeling too that some of the features will appear in futures updates.

It feel extrange that they put so much effort on a secondary mod just at the end of the lifespam of the game.

Surely we will see the new models in the furture...

I feel like it's going to alternate

Big Patch when a pack drops (so July, September, November, January, March) with Small patches in between (June, August, October, December*, February maybe April).

Warrior Monks, which you can obtain from either the religious belief or building the World Wonder Kotoko-in, can get the same promotion as the recon units. However, they can get it as their first promotion, unlike recon units who can only get it as their fourth promotion. If you want to trying playing with a unit who has that ability, that's another option available to you.

As for implementing Red Death faction abilities as regular Civ faction abilities, I don't think they'd be as useful as you imagine. Red Death is built around small armies that are constantly on the move. Abilities that are effective against that would not necessary also be effective against heavily defended, stationary cities.
