New Resources in Warlords?

I remember to have seen a video in which sid meier appeared, it was announced that in scenario were introduced also some new resources.
There was a new improvement which seemed to be an orchard while resource seemed to be an orange or apple.I don't remeber where i got this video.
Anyway only mr.bee can answer this question ;)

The IGN review states that there will be 3 new resources.
I have searched for what they are but I have found out nothing.

An orchard might mean lemons
I would like to see rubber and saltpeter though.

I can't find the link but in the video were shown an orchard with orange fruit so it should be probably oranges but it's possible i'm wrong.
In the last IGN preview i can't see where 3 resources are mentioned. Is this info in the last preview?

Sorry, it states it in the civfanatics home page under warlords expansion.

Oranges would be cool.

Maybe another sea resource? Or even an Ocean resource... Recreate the cod wars in CivIV!

An ocean resource could be really needed so naval warfare could become a bit more interesting, but it would need the introduction of a system like colonies because it's hard that your boundaries will arrive up to the oceans

How about tobacco? At least it would be historically accurate? :mischief: :D :mischief:

And why are there no potatoes in the game? There's rice, corn, wheat - but no spuds?

perhaps PC games as a resource, available with computers:
+1 hapiness, -1 culture, -1 health... :-)

We need another sea luxury to make islands and navy more important. How about pearls????

I still think we need a tourism luxury that only appears on islands of five squares or less to encourage wars over islands ;)

Do you often go scavenging about the countryside to find your PC games? I would suggest you just go to the mall, much easier.

I know that, kcbrett5. Yet, Hit Singles, Hit Movies and Hit Musicals are also considered a luxury resource in CIV IV and you dont' find them scavenging around the countryside either, do we? At any rate, never mind my joke.

Dude, IRL who's gonna fight a war over, like, Barbados?

I agree with salt as new resource.
It was vital staples for human life and major trade resource from the beginning of human history for nealy all civs.
There may be two source of salt. 1) a saltpan in seashore and 2) rock-salt mine.
Salt pan improvement can be build on salt field bonus in seashore. It requires pottery tech or similar..
Salt mine improvement can be build on rock salt bonus on hill. It reuire mining tech.
Availability of salt will add +1 health to city. or +1 food to city (because salt is used as preservatives of food)
