New screenshots on Gamespot

For those that don't know, that green "smiley" is "Mr. Yuck!", a "smiley" used back in the 80s a lot to show something was poisonous... What it means in the game though, is up for debate. ;)

Do a google search for "Mr. Yuck". You'll see the history of it.

The reason the roads are going out in the rivers are that rivers now function as roads regarding to trade routes! :)

Unhealthy citizens maybe?

What's with the train tracks in the cities "Cliffs of Insanity" and "Hills of Slaughter"? Do you think there is some improvement early to build that, or they just customized the cities with RR already there from the start? Or... ?

...and again, I notice from earlier screenshots, the way city info is displayed seems to change.... is the interface changing in development, or does the city info interface change during the game?

@Wotan. Due to its 3D nature, you can view the game from a whole lot of different angles and zoom levels.

@Slax. Well, don't just stand there-post the thing already ;) :)!

...and what is does the fist over the city represent (the one with :6 next to it)? Any takers? ...

It looks like a freshly conquered city. It is only one tile and culturely surrounded, yet it has a population of 7. I suspect the red fist represents population in revolt or resistance. In this case, there are six citizens in resistance, which luckily for my theory is less than the total pop.

The landscape looks great, but the units do seem huge. I would rather have smaller ones myself, but oh well.

Use the upload feature at the bottom of the page. It allows you to go up to 3 MB.

cfc says babaylon is a civ
It's true!! In the pre-release article, Babylon is one of the 18 civs. And it seems like the Greeks are definitely not in!!!! :cry:

Then why does GameSpot have a sketch of a Hoplite in the Civ IV screenshots?

Don't worry, everyone will get the Greeks or Babylonians or whatever major civ they want that is being left out. they may just have to wait a year and shell an extra $40 for an expansion pack...great economic idea, if you ask me.

I am more and more convinced that they changed their mind again and put 19 civ in again, cause Greece is confirmed by the hoplites and obviously Corinth, if it is really in the sixth screenshot. And Babylon is mentionned, although that doesn't have to mean anything.

Let's hope, nice pics and I really would like to comment further, but I really have things to do (and am not at all motivated...)
