New Submission Process

Is there a way to find out a reason why a submission was excluded (or a better place to ask...)?

[I'd rather know why & correct whatever it is than put more time & effort in for a fruitless task... It'd also help you guys in that I won't be repeating my errors. ... I have been through what I can find for rules of submissions & can see nothing wrong with my latest! I had hoped third time lucky... ]

Contact superslug via PM. He normally emails a reason when excluding games. Is your email address correct?

Were my directions clear regarding the particular setting you need enabled? (And don't feel bad about our time. I forgot to push that same button once and didn't realize it until 200 hours of playtime later. Needless to say, that game isn't on the table. )

Anyway, Is there a place on the HoF that I can view what games a particular person has on the boards right now? Say I wanted to get a snapshot of the 66 or so games Eman has up there right now. Is there a way to look at that without paging through every page of the HoF?

Not currently, but we *might* be able to put something like that together. Based on my understanding of the page, it should be possible, but Dianthus is the one that would know for sure.

In the meantime, is it just one particular player's portfolio you're looking for? If so, I can rig up a page. (I figure I owe you that much for the icons.)

No... Just a general wish. I thought of it when I saw Mad2rix's name on the Currently Active Users list about 10 - 15 min ago. I thought to myself hey I wonder if He/she has any games on the HoF or is He/She just lurking? So I opened the HoF "scores page" and found that Low and Behold Mad2rix has 13 games on the HoF. At that point I started to wonder what kind of games they were and hence the question. So the long and the short of it is no no one in particular I just think it would be neat to be able to view the info that way. As a suggestion I think the scores page would be a good one to enable that feature on. If I could have clicked on the persons name and seen a list of what games that person had submitted this long and mostly boring post never would have been created

Nope...It was my pleasure. I really enjoy doing that sort of thing. It is a good time killer on a day like today when it's 25 degrees outside snowing with a 40 mile an hour wind.

I would like to see that too, for similar reasons. Just curious about what games people have done. I suspect it wouldn't be difficult, as I can already look at a list of all my submitted games when I've logged in, I assume that just filters the database by name, filtering by name and published only would let people see anyone's list of games.

It would show up as unchecked on your "my submissions" list.

I just checked the incomings, and I don't see anything with your name on it. Actually, I don't see any HOF entries for you. Would this have been your first?

i think i made one.i dont know when. i click the remind me and i got an password for the entry.i tried again and i think it is done now.
and please inform me if i made a mistake or did sthg wrong.i will start a warlord game and if i made a mistake i dont want to waste the warlord map with the same mistake.

We've got it now. You can check the "My Submissions" section later to see if we cleared it or not. (Too many verifications pending for me to say right now, I'm pulling a twelve hour shift at work and Dianthus is on vacation.)

in my submissions i have two entries.they are the same games and one is accepted one is excluded. .how can i learn which one is the real one??

Somehow the game got uploaded twice. The first one I checked and cleared. The second one only says excluded because it's a duplicate file. If it had been a true exclusion, you'd have received a PM or email.

In short, your game is in.

i've just submitted a game to the HoF. i've read all your posts and found out that the HoF is updated twice a month, right ?
should i copy the 4000BC start off into a different file so it won't get crushed by my new games ? I already got that problem : couldn't submit because the 4000BC file had already been written over
I hope my save gets on the HoF soon ! thanks to all those who take care of the website !

Yes, you should always back up your game to a different folder. Do not save anything important on your autosave folder or your save folder (just in case you have to uninstall and reinstall Civ3)! Most importantly, do not save any thing of values into your Drive C (or wherever drive your OS is on, just in case you have to reformat and/or reinstall Windows or rebuild your OS).
