(Using PTW 1.21F)

For those of you that dont know, I am working on a HUGE scenario, called "War on Terror v4.0". There will be 3 versions, one called Capture the King, where you must capture a country's "king" as you would a princess in order to defeat them, one with conquest as the only victory condtion, and one with all default rules, with the only exception being the addition of new custom units. Also once this project is complete, I will add a multiplayer version, but it most likely will be minimally modified, as PTW doesn support client uploads like many FPS shooters like Soldier of Fortune and Return to Castle Wolfenstein Does. I have emailed Firaxis and suggested they add this feature, so that the possibilities can truly be endless.

The map I am using is Marla Singer's World Map, with 31 countries. All countires that aren't currently on any Globe or Map have been renamed. Here is a list of countries and their leaders:

1 Canada - Jean Chretien
2 United States of America - George W. Bush
3 Mexico - Vincinte Fox
4 Brazil - Fernando Cardoso (Soon the be updated)
5 Germany - Gerhard Schroeder
6 Australia - John Winston Howard
7 Chile - Ricardo Escobar
8 Egypt - Hosni Mubarak
9 China - Jiang Zemin (Soon to be updated)
10 Russia - Valimir Putin
11 Saudi Arabia - Fahd bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud
12 United Kingdom - Tony Blair
13 Japan - Junichiro Koizumi
14 France - Jacques Chirac
15 Pakistan - Pervez Musharraf
16 Afghanistan - Hamad Karzai
17 India - Avul Pakiri Jainulabdeen Abdul
18 South Korea - Roh Moo Hyun
19 Lybia - Muammar al-Gaddafi
20 Syria - Bashar Al-Asad
21 Republic of the Congo - Denis Sassou-Nguesso
22 Israel - Ariel Sharon
23 Algeria - Abdelaziz Bouteflika
24 Sudan - Ahmad Al-Bashir
25 Yemen - Ali Abdullah Saleh
26 Spain - Jose Maria Aznar
27 Netherlands - Jan Peter Balkenende
28 Kuwait - Al-Salim Al Sabah
29 Iraq - Saddam Hussein (Will be updated after OP. Iraqi Freedom is complete and new government is installed.)
30 Iran - Mohammad Khatami
31 North Korea - Kim Jong Ill

All of the leader heads seen in the game (through diplomatic transactions) have been changed so that the picture seen is an actual picture of the real leader. An example is you don't see Lincoln, instead you see Bush. You dont see Queen Elizabeth, you see Tony Blair.

I'm working on serveral new custom units, most which take files from other units. I have no civilopedia errors, pediaicon errors or anything, just cant figure out some animation routes.

The 4 new units I am working on are all missiles:
Chemical Skud Launcher [Middle Eastern Countries] (Nuke Scud coming if I can figure out this)
MOAB Bomb [America Only]
Chemical ICBM [Iraq, Israel, China, Iran and N. Korea]
Biological ICBM [Iraq, Israel, China, Iran and N. Korea]

I renamed the following units thus far:
Modern Armor to "M1A2 Abrams Tank"
ICBM to "Nuclear ICBM"
Stealth Fighter to "F-117 A Night Hawk"
Stealth Bomber to "B2 Bomber"

I also increased the range of bombardment for Cruise Missiles to 4, and the B2 Bomber to 325. The B2 may change if I can figure out how to add refueling planes and an option to refuel which would essentially restrict you from moving unless you had fuel.

The Chem and Bio ICBMS will be exactly the same, just named differently. What I want to do is remove the ICBM's mushroom cloud that is seen when an ICBM hits a city and replace it with a chemical attack animation I downloaded.

With the MOAB Bomb, I am am modifying a cruise missile so that when it hits a city it has a nuclear blast\Shroom cloud exactly like a nuke would, but without pollution or affecting world opinion.

With the Chem Scud Launcher, I just want to add the chemical cloud to its animation when it hits a city, and make it so that the other countries would react hostily, like they do when a nuke is used.

I am also interested into possibly creating and adding a command and communications aspect to the game. The idea I have is to have workers build Command and Control Bunkers. If those bunkers were hit by a missile or captured, the units assigned to that bunker would only be able to defend themselves which in effect wouldnt allow one to move their military units unless the bunker was recaptured or destroyed.

I will gladly add anyones name to the credits (of both the scenario and the munitions) who helps me, as this project is so large, I cant do it alone and keep the leaderheads and weapons Updated. Anyone AT ALL who is interested in helping, email me at JMInternelia@hotmail.com ASAP.

Ambitious project. For the refueling idea, you may use the DC-10 aircraft, remove the immobile, have it transport air units, and allow the immobile (supported) aircraft launch missions from the DC-10. A little corny, maybe, using the DC-10 as an undefendable aircraft carrier in the sky, but something to consider. This could be used for either helicopters (but not cargo-copters, since transports cannot live inside other transports) or tactical aircraft.

I have no idea how the command/control idea would work, as the human and computer AI are the command/control infrastructure. Perhaps you may try to limit visibility by having Soviet-style military organizations live with normal visibility but giving coalition units radar (kinda-like they got this from J-Stars). In a sense, this limits the "central command" ability to see things as transparently as can coalition technology.

For the idea about bio-chem ICBMs, you may want tactical missiles or the SCUD launcher instead. The problem with weaponizing ballistic missiles with bio/chem warheads has to deal with the tremendous pressure and heat they absorb by a ballistic missile. An ICBM has got to take on incredible heat and stress from re-entry, and I suspect it would be very very hard to keep a single microbe alive :) Weaponizing cruise missiles is generally thought to be easier than weaponizing ballistic missiles ... it is just harder to get the right tech to get a cruise missile safely to target (AFAIK).

Another idea would be to have a nuclear landmine.

Well, just some fuel for thought.

Whoops, just realized, I think this is in the wrong thread. This is better in Creation&Customization thread.

Have you played the world 2003 scenario by any chance? The 2 may be quite similar.

Also im wondering why u have Congo in and not Zimbabwe or South Africa in, maybe Nigeria? It doesnt make sense, neither does Chile, ur gonna wanna take up the worlds recources. Maybe it would be wise to do territories? Also Kuwait is popintless to put on as it wastes space, its supported by the USA anyways so why not make it part of the USA? Put more useful nations in. Also if u try and emphsise the war on Terror, why arent the Philipines or Indonesia in this? Why not put some nations together? Sudan is hardly a developed nation why not just make it full with tribes etc?

Its more a real world scenario. The main focus is IRAQ IRAN AND N KOREA. Once I figure out how to hack the game to add 60 civs, as well as reduce the amount of memory used at one time but images not being viewed. The geographic and political territories are by far the mist accurate I have ever seen. Make that decision yourself.

I don't think you're allowed to "hack" the game, or talk about doing such on this forum.

As for choice of countries, I tend to agree with Impreza. At first glance, why Algeria?

You spelled Libya wrong.

Congo I can see, since there has recently been civil war there. Zimbabwe is fairly insignificant. South Africa would be a good choice.

I would use Venezuela instead of Chile.

I agree again with Impreza, Phillippines and Indonesia also should be added.

Also choice of map, jminternelia, I would recommend one of Kal-el's maps, as they are MUCH MUCH more accurate and will give you more room to work with in Europe and the Middle East. Kuwait would probably fit on his 180 X 180 map, as an example.

Why does the B2 bomber have a bombard range of 325?!?!?!?! That's absurd and means you could go anywhere in the world with it in one turn (literally).

Quote: All countires that aren't currently on any Globe or Map have been renamed.

What does that mean?!?! Aren't ALL countries on a map or globe?

The Sudan I can see adding as well, because of their suspected ties to bin Laden and because of their Civil War.

To answer your 1st ?, The B2 Stealth Bomber is a long range stealth bomber. It makes 36 or so hour round trips to bomb baghdad. As quickly as time in CIV3 passes at the end of a turn it seemed logical to increase the values of every unit, as well as how many moves they have. They exact measurements are unknowable except maybe to those who feel ike breaking down turns pur year and compare it to how fast a real unit would move in that amount of time. The game, due to it's large map and extensive high end requirements was adjusted with that in mind.

To answer your second ?,
"All countires that aren't currently on any Globe or Map have been renamed" means simply that. Any old Civilizations that were defaults or that do not exist it the year 2002 arent choosable countries. An example wpuld be that I changed the Romans into Canada. Thats what that meant.

As Development comes along, I will take a greater look at wo specifically is in the game. Some countries may be eliminated and replaced to counter the current problem with leaving too much of africa open for any one country on that continent to capitalize on and uneven the balance.

Thankyou for your ideas.

Right u saying my scenario which is based on the real world isnt based on the real world? I can assure you there are many accurate features on it. Im sure if u put a hacked game on this board it will be deleted. I dont see the point of having more accurate boundaries which u would judge in different ways from the scenarios anyways when some country's arent relevent. You are right i will judge for myself. Dont get me wrong i look forward to it. But i dunno what to make of it.
If u need any help i am willing to help
