New User, Two Questions

I'm just installed ROM, and now I'm trying to get my head around this excellent mod.

I have two questions right away:

1) Is it possible to disable the storms & clouds?
2) I know that the recommended speed is Marathon, but are there any problems with playing on Epic speed? Does balance go out the window?

Yep, you can download AND, A New Dawn from the RoM modmod subforums. With it comes speed improvements and no storms. You can pick and choose any mods within the AND, if you pick them all (except for sea monsters, not historically accurate), then you'd pretty much HAVE to play on snail (3000 turns), there's so many more buildings, techs, whatnot. But if you don't want any of that, you can uncheck everything, and be fine, it'll install the speed boost and no storms.

The main problem with Epic speed is that your units will become outdated rather fast, so there's more pressure to wage war as soon as you get a new unit type before you have to spend a fortune upgrading it all.
