Newb on starting research.

Hi everyone, sorry if this is a simple question, but I'd appreciate the help.

Is there a way to start a C2C game with no techs at all? Even on Prehistoric I usually start with a couple of techs and a bunch of buildings and units to create from them. I just like the idea of trying the new things with each discovery.

Try starting on Noble or harder. It sounds like you are starting on Settler. Starting on Noble I've never had free Techs.
