Hmmm, now I am confused too. :crazyeye: :)

Actually, I do not have any strong evidence/proof to back my thinking up either. My impression is that, an MPP is not against any specific civ, it's a promise to fight for your pal within the 20 turns when he/she gets attacked, and "20 turns" is a part of the pact. Thus, signing a peace treaty with the common foe within the 20 turns is betraying your pal.

Padma's example makes perfect sense to me, but if this is the case, then no matter what CivB will certainly be a backstabber if C attacks A again, because there is no way B can keep both the promises.

On the other hand, a peace treaty is supposed to last 20 turns, just like an MPP, so... IMHO, if you fail to fight for your pal until the MPP expires, you simply break the pact, but that may not be the way the game works.

Again, I'm not sure how the game works on this issue, so it will be greatly appreciated if anyone can clarify this! :goodjob:

...is alone on an island?

Yes. When you get contact with two civs the Great Library goes into effect. Of course you'll have to get contact with two civs, and do that before you reserach education.

pedantry regarding hbdragon's sig no longer appropriate :)

back OT - if you time it right, the Great Library could be better on the isolated island - if I understand it correctly, if you don't meet the other civs until well past Education, you could end up getting techs that normally would be unavailable, since education would happen first. I think you get all the techs any two civs know, even if education is one of those techs.

I'm in the middle of the GOTM and 'she who must be obeyed' told me to wash the dishes. No probs, did them, then came back and the screen was showing about half the world. All the cities were very small and i had to look really close to see what units were what. Anyone know how i can zoom it in so i get the normal screen? Sure it shows my entire country, but it's too hard to make out what's what...

Press Z. The Z key cycles between the two zoom levels.

 Actually, I was looking for a thread where I could post, since I was getting impatient about reaching 1000, so thanks for asking the question!

Thanks!

How can I tell where my forbidden palace is if I forgot where I built it, besides hitting F3 and going through every city, is there a quick way to do this? Up until now my memory was good and I remember where I usually built it.. :)

You asked this 3 days ago and Killer answered here. (F1 city advisor screen, sort by shields wasted by clicking on the shields icon. FP and Palace are top 2 cities).

Q. Can I use Windows Paint Program to make new units?

Edit: Found the answer on how to build them.

I got my first great leader in a game yesterday, stupid Zulus and Persians kept attacking my cities. Once I got the chance I sent him from the border city to my capital which was heavily fortified, so I didnt lose him in battle. Question is how exactly do you make an army out of him? I saw the 'Make Army" button, clicked it and he changed into a flag carrying dude. How do you add units to it though? Since Im taking Persian border cities while the are concentrating on my one city, an army will come in real handy.

Need a clarification on this from the FAQ:

Bring him to a city. Click the icon that says 'build Army' or press 'b'. You need to have 4 cities per army! Does this mean that you have to have at least 4 cities for the army to work?

Just press the load button, like you would do on a boat. Press the L key for whatever unit you want to load into the army.

Yes, you need at least 4 cities to be able to build or create an Army. For every 4 cities that you have, you can create/build a new Army. If you don't have 4 cities, then your Leader can't create an Army (in an unmodded game).

sabo10: I rename the city wiht the FP by adding FP to the name. Then, sort by name

simpler: sort by 'shields wasted' in F1 - capital and FP city will top the list except for cities in disorder.

Thanks killer, the most brilliant ideas are sometimes the simplest ones

No problem sabo10, I just didn't want to take the credit from Killer for answering your question.

How can you tell what techs the AI has and also
which wonders are being built and how many turns the AI has left on them????

GI Joe, you can tell what tech the AI has by making contact with the leader. You will only be able to see the techs the AI has and you don't have yet. But only the techs you are able to research yourself. So if you are in the middle ages and the other CIV already in the industrial age, you're not able to see it when that civ has 'Steel'.

You can telll which wonders are built with the F7 key. All wonders built and in contstruction by the known world are shown there.

You can see how many turns they need by 'spying' and investigate the city where the wonder is built.
