Newbie seeks PTW PBEM game

Problem, I can't load the game. It is not a ****.sav file. To send the game you need to press enter at the end of your turn and send the save onwards. I recieved a ****.dat file which does not work! I need to get a ****.sav file to load it!

It must have something to do with how my e-mail formats attachments, because it is definitely a *.sav file on my end.

Same file sent from my gmail account.

(edit: Thunderbird didn't like the # I put in the file name and eliminated every character after that, including the .sav. The new file should work.

If the order is as your post I need Bathsheba's email. Normally the player who starts the game sends an email to all players with the order and emails in it. Plus I am in about 5 PTW pbem's so I will get confused if the game name remains the same. I have changed it to Adman to avoid that. :)

Let the game begin! I am creating right now!

RegentMan - TitanicWhiz18 AT comcast DOT net - Praetarians (America)
admanb - admanb AT edmondsforum DOT com - Random (Leader name Adam)
Hawklord - I'll forward your e-mail to admanb - Random
bathsheba666 - AT DOT - England
No Hawklord, you send it to bathsheba666. Has he sent you his e-mail yet?

No he has not. Perhaps Regentman should send an email with the order and email addresses to all players. Assuming he set up the game that is. Bathsheba probably does not have my email as I sent it to Regentman as requested.

Three tribes came together at the tribal council. Each of them shared the lands they called home. In order to survive, they decided to unite. They picked one man, RegentMan, to be their leader. Under his leadership, he united the tribes and named his new country after his tribe, Praetaria. The nomads moved south for the last time in 4000BC. Fifty years later, RegentMan decided that this spot would be good for the capital of his soon to be empire. In 3950BC, La Ville de RegentMan was founded. Life was good.

3950BC passed on to admanb. Note that my previous post states the turn order.

Only ever played on my own on huge maps before.
This appears fearsomely claustrophobic.
(A comment - not a complaint)

Can I ask what the map layout was?
(although istr Tiny was mentioned for 4 players.)
Pangaea? Continents?

Off to the west coast....

I selected pangea 70% water, if I recall.

3900BC e-mailed to admanb. RegentMan is pleased with the top five cities:

Game recieved, playing now.

Stupid question: how do you get to the top 5 cities screen?

gps. Our scout has spotted the Chinese border! It's a small world -- literally.

Use the F keys for the city screen. I can't remember which one is the cities, somwhere around F6 or F7. Try them all you'll get loads of info.

(There will be a small 9 hour intermission **now ended**)

Perfidious and squabbling albion blindly senses danger all around.
Village square in disarray, elders away up the mountain.
Peasants grow restive.
Instinctively, they grope for grog.

Sunset...

Return of the elders...
Scout stumbling amongst the foothills.
Verdant pasture,
Dull prospects

Hence to RegentMan.

F1 through F6 are the advisor screens, F7 is the current listing of wonders of the world being built/already built, and F11 is the top five cities/demographics.

Whoops... forgot to say that I passed it on. But apparently you got it, so that's good. Also the F8, F9, F10, and F12 keys do things too, but I forgot what they do. One is the space race, another, I believe, the score/power/culture graphs.

I'm glad that scout has no attack otherwise we would be in trouble. This must be a small world. Trading is happening.
