How did you get a conquest victory? Did someone take out Germany for you or did you even need to defeat them?

Germany seemed very vulnerable in my game as well, i "saved" them with diplomatic efforts from extinction... not so much because they were our beloved brothers but because they still had to deliver their free tech

In my game played out fairly well. In fact they were fairly helpful in some wars and of course the free Tech was valuable.

That doesn't happen often, does it?

I missed the deadline for the second time in a row. During summer vacation it is simply impossible for me to scrape together enough spare time to finish a game... Kept trying until the bitter end.
