You'd say that starting on an island with not so much good land would delay the players a lot, wouldn't you?
So first of all let's congratulate all winners.

However, there are really impressive dates among the results. I'm impressed.

Especial mention for Conquistador 63, who not only gets an Award and a Medal this month, but also completes it's second time as an Eptathlete. Congratulations!

This is where everyone settled:

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Congrats everyone!

I think recognition is due da_Vinci for the highest scoring Challenger game, too!
And Adrianj put up a good blitz-style performance in the fastest played victory at just over 3 hrs. Saving him lots of time for real life, that he probably uses to play more Civ games. :mischief:

:goodjob:

Congratulations to all winners, a little surprise that Cactus Pete went for cultural? Looking back on the game I think I should have gone for culture too, since it is so easy to get a lot of religions on warlord difficulty.

Congrats on the dual Epthathlete Award, Conquistador 63! That's quite an impressive feat!

As for Cactus Pete, it's nice to see you finally breaking out of your Conquest/Domination rut!

Oh, and what's that? Mitchum's first ever Award? Congrats! And that was in going up against a pretty talented player like Jovan Kukic to sneak in the Fastest Conquest!

Nice work, Fluroscent, on totally putting my Space game to shame!

Another solid win from ngraner42 puts him back on top of the Speed Ranking in the Global Rankings table.

Also, nice work Orel, on being the only one daring enough to submit a Loss! Dual ambulances are your reward!

Thanks for the game, jesusin! It was indeed a lot of fun! I have to admit that it was a bit of a waste of Isabel and her powerful the Conquistadors to give them to us in such a low-level difficulty game, but the fact that you gave us easy accesss to Ivory makes up for that fact adequately.

 this is really becoming quite comical with my string of #4 victories. Congrats to all the winners! I swear I'll catch up... some day...

Well, at least your consistent play has earned you a spot in the top THREE of the Global Ranking's Score table! :) Certainly, that's a worthy feat to be proud of, given the stiff competition for that spot. :goodjob:

i want a badge for high-scored time victory :D

i have to work on choosing victory condition early enough anyway :) thanx to all for participation :)

Yeah, we don't really reward Time Victories around here.

Note that it's possible to even get a Shield if you manage to win a turn sooner, in 2049 AD. One of the reasons that the Shields are there is to get you thinking about a Victory condition before stumbling upon the end of the game. ;)

i know, it,s typical for me to choose victory condition very very late, i'm just used to play "it would be somehow" and cannot get rid of this habit :]

I usually sart cultural and stop in the middle, than go for domination / conquest and stop in the middle, along the way because of wars i loose chance for diplomatic and it ends with nothing good :)
VERY VERY bad habit

highest time to learn from experienced players

Yeah! My first award (not including shields). Now if I could just figure out how to get a higher score at the same time... :D

Congrats to all of the winners. Special recognition to Conquistador 63, who joins Lexad as the only other double GOTM Eptathlete. I wonder if Lexad is going to go for the hat trick now... :mischief:

Hehe, not the award I was after, but I'll take it nevertheless :)

I like what you guys are doing with the Results thread singling out individuals for special mention :goodjob: To see one's name in bold makes it all worth it. Well... I guess there's also the fun of playing the game we love :crazyeye:

I think that the Time award should be reinstated! Sometimes it can be a HUGE challenge to get to 2050 AD and manage to prevent the AI from winning some other way. Hmmm... although at easier difficulties, it's not all that different from a conquest victory where you take no vassals (so they can't sneak a culture or space victory) and keep them to a backward tundra city.

Thanks for the game, jesusin! Getting 73 submissions in a vanilla civ game after all those years shows the good job our GOTM staff are doing!

Very solid performances all around. Mine was a hard-fought victory, with The-Hawk finishing his Dom. only 2 turns later! :whew:

Congrats to all the winners :goodjob:, and thanks as always to the staff! :goodjob::goodjob:

Special congrats to C63 for the double eptathlon! :goodjob:

No doubt, highest scoring challenger is another "hit 'em where they ain't" ... with the likes of C63 playing contender ...

Let me suggest you try a military approach with the option to divert to a diplo win, or continue on to a domination or conquest? It is one version of late decision making that should give you an option before time runs out! ;)

@ aj: Long time no hear! ... Check your PM's ... ;)
