I have been considering a few NES ideas recently, mostly while daydreaming at school while the teachers ramble on and on. I plan on using one of them for the next EQNES, please vote so I know which would be the most popular idea.
How Few remain NES- Based on Harry Turtledove's How Few Remain book and starting in period of the beginning of the book. Look here for full story from what would have been a board game NES a long time ago: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22631
Roman Empire NES- THis is an idea of my own. Each player is a person, real life or fictional, in 330 AD Rome. Each player would compete amongst the rest for the throne of the Emporer. The players would fight wars against Sassinids or the barbarians, or if they gain enough support wage a war for the throne. You could use whatever means nessacary to gain power, including assassination, civil war, or even elections. Players could be anyone from generals, Senators, governors of provinces, and of course only one Emporer.
World War NES- Another spinoff of a Harry Turtledove series. In the series, the earth is invaded by lizard-like aliens during World War 2. Players would take control of different human nations, using tactics and researching new weapons to gain an edge against the invaders.
Stars and Stripes NES- Based on a series by Harry Harrison, this is based on an alternate history of the American Civil War. In this alternate world, the British Empire attacked the divided United States trying to bring the whole of the United States into the Empire. However, the Americans united and defeated the British first in the northern United States, then drove them out of Canada, then defeated both French and British in Mexico, then invaded and restored Ireland's independce. Then with one final strike to end British aggression once and for all the Americans invaded and defeated the British in England itself. With Scotland becoming independent, this would be a normal story NES based off the series' story line.
