Next War Mod/Scen: minimap issue

So..I was tinkering around with the Next War scen in Notepad when I accidentally deleted the Player/Team info (while attempting to reset the world map by replacing all the tile info with that of the standard Earth map).

Anyways, recreated the file as a blank template of the Earth map, gave it the previous settings, etc, etc, and launched the mod. Lo and behold, when I opened the scenario up....no minimap. I thought, 'okay, weird', and proceeded to try a Play Now! with the mod. Same problem.

As a possibly related note: The 'specify mod directory' line in Civ4Config appears to have no effect (i.e changing it to Mods/Next War didn't make the game load into Next War automatically). Not having this problem in normal BTS for now.

So..any ideas? Not just the minimap, but the whole border (all buttons, the city screen, etc) are gone.

just checking: is this a problem only for NextWar or also for the core game?

Only for NextWar.

I haven't touched a single Assets file, only the scenario.

could you enable logging and post the game logs?
