No Barbarians is very broken

Hi,
I like the Orbis Modmod very much. But there is one major thing that annoys me: The Barbarians (Mainly trolls). A normal Orbis game feels like a FFH vanilla game with raging barbs.
So I checked the gameoption "No barbarians".
I'm in turn 90 now and I have seen/fighted 15 warrios, 5 goblins, 5 trolls. Ok, trolls do not spam from troll lairs, lizardmen do not spam from ruins and there are no Barbarian towns. Nonetheless they spam in groups in the fog of war. That annoys me and prevents me from playing Orbis. Is there a way to fix this/ patch coming that corrects the No Barbarians Issue ?
 
I rather enjoy the challenge....to play orbis you really have to change your starting phase to accomodate more barbs and stronger animals.

Just build 4 warriors and you should be good (especially considering warriors defending your capital get the palace guard promo which makes them 4 on the defense....few barbs can take down a fortified 4 strength defender in a city in the early game).

As far as your question, I really don't know.

EDIT: I've also found palisades are pretty much a must, but I play with raging barbs on, so maybe you could get a way with it if you click the no barbs option.
 
Yes I play a No Barbarians game. But they are still there (described above). My problem is not defending my towns, it's defending my improvements. I want to play a nice builder game like in base FFH.....
 
I see. Well, you could consider going down in difficulty a notch....Orbis is generally more challenging than base ffh, so if you play the latter at Deity or something, go down a notch or two for the former.

I regularly play monarch, erebus, with raging barbs and aggressive ai, and have found that the barbs can be troubling from turns 50-150, but they generally slow down after a while.
 
Choose custom game.
Choose your map and settings.
Select No Barbarians.
Then scroll down and select the No Lairs option.
Then scroll down farther and select no Wild Animals.

That should clean everything up and let you play a builder game.
 
"No Barbarians" was recently changed so it only removes Savages. You need to turn on No Animals and No Demons too; and No Lair, of course.

But there is also a machanics that spawns some barbarian (orc) units in gropus. Will check if it is properly blocked by no barbarians game option.
 
That's the point Ahwaric^^ It is not blocked. It would be nice if you make it work in the next patch;)

To the others: I am able to cope with the barbarians, even up to deity. But I simply do not like it because it makes the game too random imo. And I find animals OUTSIDE my borders quite interesting when expanding...but I don't like barbarians destroying my land because I have not enough warriors.

Hmmm, I understand your point. That being said, I would think a game with no barbs wouldn't be random enough for my tastes.

When looking at our own history, I don't think many barbarian hordes turned around at an empire's borders because they didn't want to make things too random. For me it adds another layer of realism and challenge to the game.

To each his own, I suppose. :)
