i believe you have to send an e-mail to infrograms and ask them for a no cd patch. I dont know exactly what is involved but as far as i know you have to prove to them that you actually purchased your game. Then they give you the no CD patch.
To my knowledge, any other means to aquire the no CD patch is illegal.

acquiring the patch and using it is NOT illegal in most countries - provided you own a legal copy of the game and do not install the game on another computer!

Firaxis/Infograms is VERY helpfull in my experience if you lost/broke your CD and can proove you bought the game.

Dude I don't even live anywhere near the US. I was hoping to find it online or something. Never mind. I'll just stick with placing my CD ever-so-carefully into the drive everytime I play.

I didn't lose the CD. hmm now that you guys mention... maybe I should burn a copy and use that instead. That way I won't lose the CD by accident or human error. I won't need to touch my CD anymore, too!
