No oil ! no Tank!

How to get oil? my civlization is behind because i cannot get oil.. while my enemy can build tank while i only got infantry..

1. Find some that isn't in other peoples lands.
2. Fight for it if need be - directing invasion at the spot required.
3. Trade it for something else.
4. Put up with not having it.

Really, what did you expect people to say? At best you'll just get a guide to what units to use together at that time period to go fight for some oil.

kitten may have been a bit brash, but he is right. You can't really expect anyone to give you great advice with so little information. Everyone is short a resource at some point. Your options boil down to either obtaining a copy yourself or deny the other civ's their copy.

From your frustration, it sounds like your playstyle may center around going to war alot and usually always having superior units. There are other ways. Heck, try to get the computer to fight each other, perform "sugergical strikes" where you capture just a small area of land then negotiate peace. Or try culture bombing to get that oil inside your borders. maybe a combination. There are lots of avenues open for you.

Crystal is right. Also how did the situtation deteriorated to the point that you ennemies have so many tanks ???.
1) You got behind technology, thus allowing your ennemy not only to get the oil, but also to build tanks.
In conquest being later technologically is death.

2) If you got oil before them, why did you wait till they build tanks before attacking them ???

u got to get to the certain technology before you able to found oil. (did u know that) i was attack them once i got my musketman. secodnly i didn't know it require oil for tank.. (i'm new to this game).

Well like what was posted above either take over a city with oil near buy and hold it or trade for it is pretty well the only way. On a side note though if the comp only has 1 supply of the stuff and you have a surplus of cash you can always use spies to sabatoge his oil well to keep him from being able to build tanks as well untill you can take over the area Then use the oil to push back your enamies with your new found tanks

Lack of resources is usually a good reason to go to war or to start sending ships out looking for deserted islands with resources. Trading is also an option but a lot of times the AI won't trade you any strategic resources.

My current game started out well but by the middle of the game I discovered that my half of the continent I was on had no copper, no coal, and no oil.

That was when I decided to send a few stacks of cavalry and catapults over to discuss the virtues of sharing with the Greeks.
