I'm in a bit of a predicament. I can't find my Conquests "Saves" folder. I look under C:-->Program Files-->Firaxis Games-->Civilization III Complete (yes I have complete version, might be my problem)-->Conquests. There is no save folder there...

I took someone's advice and looked in-game at the folder where all the saves are located...and it said they were located in C:-->Program Files-->Firaxis Games-->Civilization III Complete-->Conquests-->Saves...except there is no Saves file in there, as you can see from the screenshot! Very odd...(It should also be noted that it says the "Saves" folder is right after the "Redist" folder)

Anyways, the things you should know are:

*I had Civ III Gold version (PTW+ Vanilla)

*I installed civ III Complete version afterwards (Which i am currently playing)

*There is no "Saves" folder in the Civ 3 Complete, the PTW, or the Conquests folder

*I am using Windows Vista

I hope someone can help me out :(

This is because of UAC (User Account Control). It virtualizes the files in Program Files so that malicious software will have a harder time infecting your computer. Any files that can be modified are actually placed in your Users directoy, and virtual copies are put in their place in the proper Program Files folders. That is why you can't see the Saves folder, but it actually exists and Civ3 knows where it is. You can modify stuff in Civ3, you just need to find the folders in your Users directoy.

There are actually a number of different topics about this and the files location, you already posted in the other thread that gives a path. Did you manage to find the folders?

I'm not exactly sure where you mean. I looked in my personal folder but found nothing about saved games or anything like that. could you give me the location of my users directory/how to get there? Thanks.

And no, obviously I haven't found the folder yet ;)

I was talking about this thread, Joebazda gives the location of where the Users directory with your data should be located. It might be in a different location, but thats where I would start looking.

Some of the folders may be set to hidden, so you would have to go into your folder options and choose to display hidden folders.

Well that didn't work but it's all right...I fixed the problem...thanks though :p
