No sound with M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard

My M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard cuts out during the loading screen and I can't get a signal thereafter.

I'm an avid gamer and Civ 4 is the first game that has had an issue with this soundcard.

Anyone else having issues or any suggestions?

Yes I have the latest drivers, Direct X9c, and Windows XP sp 2.

Awesome. That's good to know. Some other Audiophile users were having the same trouble as me so it's good to know that someone was successful and I can tweak whatever settings I can dig up to make it work.

It's just plain wierd that Civ 4 was the first game to crap out on me after 3+ years of PC gaming without any trouble using this card.
