"No Tech Trading" is in the options, but why not "No Tech Sharing" option in a team game?

Sorry, I misread it the first time :)

I guess it has to do with the assumption that you want to share with your team partner - if you don't, you can simply not play team but regular.

I know this is a three year old post, but is there any mod that can turn off tech sharing between team members in a team game?

In the group of people I play with each player has his own way of developing his civ. We like our civs to be unique. Further, while we've never really liked the research sharing, it makes even less sense since we started playing FFH2. In FFH2 the civilizations tend to be much more differentiable with drastically different technological needs.

Alternatively we can set it up so we aren't team mates, merely at peace with one another, but it sure would be nice to share vision with each other, especially while we're waiting on each other to finish turns.

I have looked around the XMLs and Python for anything that might disable research sharing, but I can't really figure out how to get rid of it.

It's pretty simple: DON'T BE ON THE SAME TEAM. Really. That easy. You don't have to be on the same team to cooperate, you know.

Okay, repost:

So yes, I know.

I would like this option too since it would be the easiest way to train someone...sadly it's not available. True team games skew the tech rate against expansion and don't give people an accurate picture of the importance of tech priority vs expansion. And then people ignore me when I tell them to build more workers, stop working unimproved tiles, etc because they can get away with it in teamers. Worse yet, they build 3-4 less cities, have a higher absolute beaker rate for 20-40 turns or so, and think they're actually doing better :/.
