No Treasure for Pirates

Ok then, as long as everything else civ3 is working we are still ok. Delete all things Pirate and if your willing to see this through I'll upload the files to a new site, it is possible that the files/folder became corrupt during the transfer, I'm currently traveling but will be home tonight to play my Zombie turn and after that I'll work on it. But please if you are on the fence with this game it would be hard to find a replacement after it has started. I hope you're in it to win it!

Perhaps also someone in the modder community has an idea what might be wrong here.

PS: for me the files from your dropbox worked fine. So if they got corrupted for classical_hero, it must have happened when he downloaded them.

Is there meant to be a sound file with the scenario? Based an what files I am missing, it looks like there is meant to be a sound file with this scenario.

I've attached what is in my scenario files that I downloaded from Eclispe.

No, the scenario doesn't have any sound file.

And I searched my entire Civilization3 folder for a file named ee2.mp3, and I don't have such a file either. Strange that the game is asking for it in your case?!

Eclipse, how about starting this with just the three of us, Jarovid, you and me? Better to have just 3 players who enjoy it and play it at a decent speed, than trying to "persuade" 2-3 more, who only play it reluctantly and even drop out in the middle of it.

I could make the final changes this weekend (beefed up Dragoon, ballancing the Landmark tiles, ballancing the Undead) and then we take off with a combination as discussed earlier, i.e. everybody gets one major European nation and one Pirate nation, and that's it?!

Yes I Love it! Would you please do the honors. There is the matters of who will be playing which nations and the order of said nations, IMO player #1 should play both of his leaders then onto the next player expediting the turn.

Lanzelot if you will pair up the choices and pick first then Jarovid and I last I am sure we will have a blast (haha)

Well, if there is nobody else interested, I am OK with the three players setup.

Eclipse please make your pick after Lanzelot, I will be fine with any nation.

Ok, here is a biq, I think we can go ahead with. I added 1 movement, 2 attack and 2 defense to the Dragoon and also gave it 2 extra hitpoints to make it worth the investment. (Also increased the shield cost to 40.) Now it should be a real choice whether to build
- Cavalry, 10-6-2, 6 HP at regular for 25s or
- Dragoon, 12-7-3, 7 HP at regular for 40s + 1 population
(Note: Spain can't build the Dragoon. I didn't change that, the scenario designer probably did this for a reason?!)

Every capital has now two landmark tiles. (In the original scenario, Cadiz had 2, London 1 and the rest none.) This should give us a decent production base at home...

Here is again, how I would distribute the nations:
1. Player: Spain
2. Player: England + Peglegs
3. Player: France + Swashbucklers
Portugal, Netherlands and Undead Pirates set to AI

Please note: if we decide to play the European and the Pirate turn directly one after another in order to speed up the turn-around time, then it is important that the player saves after playing the first civ and loads the file fresh from disc for the second civ. If you just click "Continue" for the second civ, there is a bug that workers work at double speed. (Either the workers of the first civ, or the ones of the second civ, can't remember. This was pointed out by Muzbang in the Age of Imperialism PBEM or the Theater of War PBEM.)

I still stick to my decision to try England. Once we have Jarovid's and your choice, can you then start the game, Eclipse? After all these years, we finally take off... :goodjob:

OK, it leaves me with Spain I suppose.
I would be glad to swap you France for Spain. I wanted to be last and ALL players happy with their choice(s).

Spain of course is the "Main" (Spanish Main) Character of this scenario and will be rich with Treasure, Diplomacy, Strategy and Highs and Lows, meaning you successfully shipped treasures or you lost ships.

We MUST be satisfied with our choice(s) because this game is all about those shipping lanes and those treasures and we cannot want to quit if an upset occurs.

Today I will be dividing my time between a large project (see pic) and Post #1 here. I will be adding a few Rules for instances "Save between turns" and report significant actions. and update us as players and make it more attractive to those who will come and see. If you believe as I do that this game will be outstanding please rate this thread and be as active here as possible and if you are interest in "Writing" as I am here is as good as place as any. This game actually inspired me to write Novel/Series in 2009 but has since been shelved until less chaotic times.

Here is a question pertaining to that subject:
In regards to the Peglegs and the Swashbucklers, should we report to all the actions like "The Swashbucklers captured an English ship" or "The Peglegs sunk a Swashbucklers' ship" or other "raids"?

Jarovid where about in this world are you? I am in the Eastern U.S., Lanzelot is in Western Europe, I am -5GMT
