alright im playing a huge map with 16 civilizations on diety, its now around 500 ad and there has not been any wars at all at the moment except for a few between me and1 other AI.

anyone know a good way to get those other AIs to start wars with each other, even when I play on other difficultys the AI goes to war with each other alot faster.

pic a civ miles away.
pic the civ next to it
allie with one to attack the other

repeat til you start WW1 and you should manage to keep the AI scrapping amongst themselves forever.
Be careful to keep them evenly matched tho.. dont want a runaway AI!

That is pretty weird. Are you sure you just haven't noticed the wars? You need an embassy with a civ to get the "x declares war on y" message and see the red "war" line on the F4 screen. What's the map like? Maybe they don't have many contacts, or they haven't finished expanding yet. That could explain it, but it's still unusual.

Run viewer against the current save to see if any wars lead to cities being razed or captured.

As was mentioned, if you do not have embassies, you do not get the word. Probably much of the fighting occurred earlier.

Post a save and I will check if you want.

I had an archipelago game, and every civ was in republic, except two, Egypt and me, so I declared war on Egypt, and got alliances with every civ. Since they signed the alliance, they are the agressor, so will have war wariness. It was on a huge map, so the chances of Egypt reaching my shores were 1 out of 50, and even if they did, it would probably just be a warrior.

It's a great strategy.

im playing on a panagea map and everyone met each other.

Ill check it via timeline when im back home.

How boring are games when there's no wars? Honestly :)

Played a game the other day on Regent, normal aggressiveness, and there was just one war up until around 1600AD (was heading for a space race vic), no cities taken or anything... by far the most uninteresting game I've had. Then the AI decides to do its 'lets pick on the human player' strategy and try to dog-pile me.

I have found I've replayed a save and started from the same point to see how a game would play differently and noticed the AI will sometimes randomly attack another civ, regardless of their power, just for the sake of it. Reload again, do the same things and no wars at all.

well I did what slozenger said and made war with 2 otehr civs and made an alliance with 1 other against them and now almost every civ is at war with at least 2 civs :D
