hmmm i got the goody hut and got 55 gold and i am probably gonna first research mysticism at 4000 bc
at 1240bc i have built NYC and have built stonehenge, the oracle, and the great wall. I just founded Judaism in NYC and my most recent research besides monotheism was writing.
There wasn't much doctoring, and what there was is listed in the first message. And if your "some people need that" was directed at the intended audience of people trying to learn Noble, it's inappropriate.
So this is my first time playing a forum game and only my 6th completed map in Civ 4. I took my screenshots and notes while playing this map so I am going to try to post them and hopefully figure out how to use spoiler tags for texts and images along the way. Here goes.
4000BC Opening thoughts: SIP, capital looks good, open AH/myst. Started
with worker and improved cows first. Went myst second so I could get monuments so I
could get some boarder pops in future cities.
Spoiler:
2280BC Begin work on first settler, Finish Stonehenge in Washington. Also have met Fredrick to the north who is the founder of Hinduism.
Spoiler:
1640BC Revolt to slavery. Begin teching math for possible trades and better chops in the future.
Spoiler:
950BC Starting to tech alphabet, not sure where to place blocking city to the north! For now just trying to settle a few more cities and work on building some infrastructure.
Spoiler:
575BC Meet Willem, open boarders, work on taking out barb city.
Spoiler:
25AD Meet Alexander. Start massing units possible war with Fredrick as he is still very small and is a heathen
520AD teching for music, heading for sistine chapal. Might pursue long term culture win if I can manage to stay out of trouble. Decided against going to war with fredrick, will finsih founding core cities first before deciding anything, might as well keep the peace I suppose.
Spoiler:
800AD Mass civic change Hereditary rule, Bureaucracy and Org Religion.
Spoiler:
860AD Complete Sistine Chapel in Cap. Gonna make a few last settlers and finally finish settling my lands.
Spoiler:
920AD Alexander converts to Buddhism This should help long term diplo if going for culture still.
Spoiler:
1150AD Get Great Prophet from Washington, use it on a golden age.
Spoiler:
1170AD Just an overhead view of the empire thus far. Culture is moving along.
Spoiler:
1430AD Win Lib race, took Constitution. Made some trades, lots of them actually. Picked up banks and guilds and some money. Teching for rifles and military tradition before cutting slider entirely.
The shocking conclusion, hit the spoiler tab unless your a pansy!
Spoiler:
1800AD Still (duh) Going for culture. Cut slider when I reached military tradition. Now building rifles for protection in my outer cities. 100% Great artist in one city, high percentages in several others. Here are 3 culture cities. Trying to get them all within a few turns of hitting 50K, can I do it?
Spoiler:
1872AD I manage to pop one final golden age from a saved engineer and a great scientiest but it hardly matters at this point! Also I manage to get all my culture cities to hit 50K on the same turn!! Thanks culture bomb artists, love ya guys!
Next post, Sweet victory and final pics and thoughts.
Here is a look at my final demographics and whatnot.
Spoiler:
My thoughts or lack thereof...
Spoiler:
So this concludes my first but not my last forum game. This is only the 6th total game I have ever played from start to finish in Civ. I didn't find this map to be very difficult as you start with a lot of seemingly uncontested land and 2 of the 3 met AIs ran my religion for the entire game which made peace teching fairly easy if somewhat boring. That being said I am a very rookie player and welcome all and any feedback. I was very happy to have gotten all my cities to finish on the game turn, score!
Special thanks
Spoiler:
Finally a very special thanks to TMIT, TheMeInTeam- he is my favorite lets player by far and the reason why I found out about this site and decided to actually try to get better at Civilization. For all your fans and all that you do TMIT, thank you! I have always loved the series but always found it too difficult or too easy. This will not be my only NC game and will hopefully play the next in the series after Ragnar and post my results win or lose.
