I wish to replace Roosevelt of America in Civ4 (BTS) 18 Civ standard scenario with Sitting Bull Native American.

Is this possible easily for someone with ZERO modding experience?

I really like that scenario, but I would like to swap out leaders from time to time to make it more interesting.

Any help appreciated

This is an XML mod, so anyone could do it in theory. Make a copy of the mod, look in the leaderhead file and change the details to fit with the details of Roosevelt. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Where would I find the Mod for this scenario.... It is quite confusing? I did look in the "Mod" folder and it was not there

You might want to look in the mod folders for the expansions instead of the original game (or vice versa). The trick is, Civ4 actually has multiple mod folders (and depending upon what expansion you load, different mods are available). So open the "Beyond the Sword" folder and look in the Mod folder there!

Truly friend I have looked in all the mod folders and to make sure I have done so again just now. Beyond the Sword, Warlords, and Civ 4. I see Mods from Greek World to Desert War to Omen, but no Scenario 18Civ Earth.

When you load 18Civ Earth it does not ask you to restart the game like "other" mods do, which may mean it is located elsewhere?

I look in all the folders and see nothing which looks like what I need.

I know this is probably getting annoying to you... Sorry...

I wish I had greater knowledge in this area and knew where to look.

An easier way is to just edit the wbs file and change:

BeginPlayer
LeaderType=LEADER_FRANKLIN_ROOSEVELT
CivType=CIVILIZATION_AMERICA
Team=0
PlayableCiv=1
StartingX=57, StartingY=49
Handicap=HANDICAP_NOBLE
EndPlayer

to

BeginPlayer
LeaderType=LEADER_SITTING_BULL
CivType=CIVILIZATION_AMERICA
Team=0
PlayableCiv=1
StartingX=57, StartingY=49
Handicap=HANDICAP_NOBLE
EndPlayer

and that should work.

Go to Local Disk C:/Program Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Public Maps then right click on the map you want to edit and select edit.

Thanks for all the help..

Changed the leader... But I guess Native American is not possible since it is a Civ4 Map? Yet... I know when you play the game BTS upgrades (Corps etc.. are used).

I tried NATIVE_AMERICAN AND NATIVE for civ did not work.. is Native American civ have a different name or is it not possible?

I'm pretty sure if its not a BTS map then native american wont work
