Apparently replacing actual lua files from the game, such as assignstartingplots, no longer works at the moment in modbuddy. As well, .dds files don't seem to work (someone figured that problem out). So pretty much all big mods are borked.

Edit: I probably worded that horribly, to clarify here's how someone else put it:

It looks like it's the same as the DDS; it's just not loading ANY Lua changes by default. New Lua files, yes, but any edited versions of old Lua (including AssignStartingPlots) just isn't being used. I've edited the TechTree lua files to add better tech tree icons, for instance, and none of that is showing up either.

But unlike the DDS, you can't set the VFS flag to true for the Lua; that crashes the game.

Turns out the VFS flags defaulted to false rather than true for no reason :crazyeye: Can't tell if it's intentional or not

This seemed like the only place to post this:

I'm seeing a weird problem after the modbuddy patch. I tried to update my unit mod by simply changing the fscale. Instead of my unit appearing in game the normal warrior unit did. So I loaded the previous version (which was untouched by the new patch) and it worked fine. I copied the exact same file over to the MODS folder, opened it with modbuddy, built the solution without changing anything and guess what? No unit. What the hell?
