Not able to Research.

Just downloaded .34 with g patch and there is no research bar at the top of the screen. Clicked research icon and all new techs frozen in red. Played for 40 turns with no change. Is there some new requirements before I can research techs? I reloaded .34 and patch with no change. Please HELP! Thx

you have some hidden game options turned on, probably from playing fall further. start a play now! game and all the options will be set to default, then you can re-select the ones you want. this should fix the issue.
