Not Installing Properly

There is this annoying problem when I try to install Civ IV it simply will not have it. I insert the disk, up comes the autorun menu, I press install, and then it simply disappears and nothing follows. However, to get around I did the Add or Remove programs in Control Panel and it installs. Unfortunatly, it doesn't install properly. I try to play and the loading screen appears and then disappears. Why?

There is a way around however. I installed Warlords on top of Civ IV and I can play Warlords fine, but the original Civ IV scenarios are missing and the folders for Warlords don't seem to exist. confused Therefore, I cannot install new scenarios what the lovely people here have created.

What on earth is happening?

I forgot to mention that installing the latest patch ruins everything and I have to re-install everything...

Computer specs? Although since you can run warlords, I don't really know. You might want to ask in tech support forum instead.
