I do love the new CIV but when I played the "old" civ or most commonaly know as TOT or test of time In my case, I could "pause" the game to chat to somone online if I wanted to or do something else on my computer if I needed to at the time but now I don't know how to play the game in window to do all the other things that I normally do :goodjob:

The game does not play in any windowed mode and no support for this is planned.

The game is pretty ALT-TAB friendly so you shouldn't have any problems sending it to the background to take care of other things. If you have a windows keyboard, use Windows-D to bring up the desktop, it works well with Civ.

Why can't you plan to support windowing of the game...most users would get alot from that...I for one could do my dissertation whilst waiting for the A.I to do its hidden movement...:p

I can only minimize Civ3 as long as I have KeepRes=0, but that screwes up my desktop :(
On KeepRes=1 the game doesn't minimize but simply stay on like a background image and only programs that have an "On Top" feature like Winamp or zone alarm are properly displayed. Internet Explorer/mIRC are shown behind the civ game ... :(

I've been "doing" the little window key and the alt tab key and to tell you the truth I think that it kinda sucks........... :midfinger because you know that most people out there have windows or IBM compatable and putting, such a fine re-make of the original in the same format as the original is just a shame.............:spank: ......and in closing other then the the format I do like the new game..........:goodjob:

I run my desktop in 1600x1200 and if i set KeepRes=1 i can play in windowed mode just like with civ2. Only difference is the units etc in the game are quite a bit smaller.
