Question regarding suzerainty after liberating a city state:
  • I was suzerain over Hattusa. They were hooking me up with aluminum.

  • England captures Hattusa (I'm at war with them already). No more planes for me.

  • I liberate Hattusa in a blaze of glory and choose to liberate it to its founder.
Here's where it gets weird:
  • I'm suzerain for the rest of the game.

  • I'm at war with them despite being their suzerain (I never declared war on them).

  • I don't get aluminum from their bonus.

  • Vision isn't shared.

  • In the city state panel it tells me I've earned the Hattusa suzerain bonus.
I dumped 8 more envoys into the city state over the next 10 turns before the game ended and never received aluminum. Any ideas?

Rise and Fall expansion. Only purchasable Firaxis DLC.

So do you have no sources of aluminum at all?

If you were getting aluminum from Hattusa's suzerain ability, it only applies if you aren't getting that strategic resource from other sources.

That's correct -- I had no access to aluminum at any of my bases. At this point I'd launched a satellite so I was guaranteed vision of at least one aluminum on the map.

Sounds like the bug seems to be you are war with them despite liberating them and being the suzerain.

Ehh I'm having this exact same problem.
First time I liberated my CS, it was at war with me, but also showning that I'm reciveing all the bonuses, and am the suzerain.
Second time one was similar, but istead being at war, I was neutral.

Unfortunetly outcome is always the same.
Whole thing is happening during emergency.
