Not Working? [FIXED]

I recently gained access to the game, so I downloaded it, extracted it to Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS, and started up the game, but I simply doesn't work. I checked in the mods screen in game, and it shows up, but none of the features of the mod appear. When I go to start a new game, it's the same as regular civ, and I'm not sure what is going wrong.

Ah, just figured it out. I enabled the mod, but for some reason it didn't register.

Yeah you need to tick the box on the mod screen. Very small detail.
Needs to be done each time you update the mod.

Yeah, it’s a lot different from both civ 4 (loads single mod at a time in a self-explanatory menu) and 6 (automatically loads selected mods) which I have both had experience with.
