Have you tried saving it somewhere else, then moving it in? I have Vista as well, and I need to save the XML to the Desktop via. "Save As...", and then replace the original with it. Pain in the rear end, but it works.

Out of curiosity, is this a Vista issue with all files being saved?

I suggest you download a free XML editor like Visual Studio Express which can be downloaded from the microsoft website. THe great thing about this editor is that is also chechs on XML schema correctly, which effectely prevent you from creating XML code which will crash the game.

If you hapen to be running Office 2007 then Word also checks the schema, though it does tend to screw things up for other programs when saving.
