Sean Spicer said today that the Trump administration will look to crack down on recreational marijuana use, something that attorney general Jess Sessions has, in the past, been staunchly in the camp of punishment for.

Is this a potential blow to state's rights?
Will the Republican party ever be a party of smaller government?
What even purpose does this have other than to throw more people in prison?

Discuss away!

The ability to persecute little boys who like to wear dresses is a State's Rights issue.

The ability to persecute smokers of a non-dangerous drug is so critical to human welfare that it can't be left to the caprices of the states...

“In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state,” he said in Nevada in October 2015.

He’s remained staunchly supportive of medical marijuana, telling Fox News host Bill O’Reilly he was “in favor of medical marijuana 100%.”

“I know people that have serious problems and they did that they really — it really does help them,” he said.

Umm...the government you're in charge of now says it doesn't help them and thats why medical pot is illegal - it aint a medicine. But Spicer says they'll crackdown on recreational pot because thats the law? Medical pot aint legal either... Thats the law too.

we just make it up as we go, ignore the hypocrisy and idiocy

White House press secretary Sean Spicer drew a distinction on Thursday between medical and recreational marijuana, suggesting that the pending federal prohibition regarding marijuana use could be used to push back against states that allow it recreationally.

There’s a big difference between [medicinal marijuana] and recreational marijuana,” Spicer said, via Forbes.com. “I think that when you see the opioid addiction crisis blossoming in so many states around this country the last thing we should be doing is encouraging people. There is still a federal law we need to abide by in terms of when it comes to recreational marijuana.”

so millions of people will be put in cages for pot because the pharmaceutical and medical industries are pushing too many opioids to people in pain.

why not booze? or soda? or tobacco? or... they're frauds. I'd like to know if Ivanka ever smoked pot. If so, I'd like to see her first in line for a jail cell with Daddy's new war on pot.

Maybe this is just an excuse for Trump to go after Bill Maher

I was watching the Comedy Central roast of Trump, he knows more pot smokers than I do.
