I think Expansionist got a great boost. Nothing like knowing the landscape long before the others and take advantage of the best places for your civ. :)

Before c3c, Scientific and Religious were the best ones but now I would say Agricultural is the best one by far followed by Scientific. If youre agricultural and manage to bulid a few of youre first cities on a river, which is possible most of the times, you can out-expand your opponents even on higher difficult levels. The dessert bonus is great to. Is Ag. too powerful even?

Scientific got a slight boost with SGL, but the probability of appearence is small, especially on higher difficulty levels were you probably woun't be tech-leader much even with the Scientific trait.

Expansionist got a boost but I would still rank it by the lowest.

Seafaring is good only on island -maps

What I really like about these polls is that they show the diversity of the civ community.
We've got votes for every trait (although just a few votes for some of them) and although agricultural is leading the standings, the poll to date shows that 70% of voters rate another trait as their fav. I've said before that agricultural is strong, but I don't think it's going to be agricultural and... like it was industrious and... before C3C.

Hmm, I beg to differ. If you're not expansionist seafaring lets you contact other civs well before any land-bound civ could. And since seafaring civs all start with Alphabet it gives you a really good shot at Philosophy, the Great Libray, and with ivory an early start on the SoZ. The 10% research for writing gambit still works reasonably well on Emperor, too, so with a seafaring civ I never have to worry about keeping up in tech in the Ancient era.

the best trait is Agricultural

I rank the others as:

2.Scientific
3.Industrious
4.Seafaring
5.Religious
6.Militaristic
7.Expansionist
8.Commercial

I'm not sure I have played enough but definitely military has gone down on the list now that GLs can't rush Wonders. With the changes to Republic and the addition of new governments Religious looks a lot stronger.

I'm playing as Sumerians and loving it. I woluld rate Scientific as number one now. and it goes well with commercial/Industrial/Agricultural and Religeous. I've had 4-5 SGL by the middle ages. Insane goodness.

For me, Religious is a must. In Order:

1)Religious
2)Industrious
3)Scientific
4)Seafaring (higher on more water based map)
5)Militaristic
6)Agricultural
7)Commercial

So far I have enjoyed Scientific and Seafaring under the new rules, but by far the most fun was Militaristic. Loads of MGL's means early second palace -> low corruption, lots of armies in the field, heroic epic, pentagon etc. 4-5 armies in the middle ages will rule the world, multiple attacks, fast healing, extra movement and FUN!!!! Try a four stack Cavalry army with a wopping 4 movement points and you will be converted. You can kill off all 4 of the city defenders on one turn with one army, come out merely scratched, and be at the next city before you know it..

From the first time I played the game until now, 2 expansions later, I say Religious. The cheap temple are what I want. Makes rusing easier in despot & commie, and cheaper in all the others.

Being able to switch governments whenever I want with very little difficulty just adds something to boot.

Edit:
chameleon, I can not argue with that. Militaristic is my second choice. While others might be better "numbers" wise, I love all the armies. I play large/huge maps so I tend to get a lot of armies with I am going on the warpath. Once I hit the 8 army mark, I am unbeatable.

41 agricultural!!! Mind blowing. I mean, it's nice and all, but it's just cheap granaries and food in the desert... call me oldschool, but Industrious/Religious is still the combo to beat, who's with me?

It's NOT cheap Granaries, if it were, it would be AWESOME (they didn't give them cheap granaries because of balance).

What is awesome with agricultural civs, is that you get +1 food on the city tile (if on a river in despotism, and in any city in any other gov).

RELIGIOUS (YAY). Then I like Militaristic as well. I guess that is why i use Japan. Right RealGoober? hehe :D

yep I love  playing as Japan, but I've played with them so much before I got C3C that I haven't given them much attention

I am. :)

(From Lumin) Hey, you only use the Japanese because you can build your bloody Samurai to kill me better and faster.

I am going to try a game with an Agricultural Civ to see if it really is as good as people have said in this thread. I still like Religious Civs.

I don't have a favourite. They're all great. Once again, :goodjob: Firaxis.
(i'll vote commercial so I can see the results)
