commercial is still my favourite. starting with alphabet is the best way to go for the GL

and you've got an extra ring of productive cities in the late game.
 
Yeah the Militaristic/Religious combo has always been my favorite, and the Aztecs have always been my main Civ. The major downside now is no rushing wonders with leaders, but I still love those cheap temples and cathedrals. And I think I might hate anarchy more than the average player, so I'll still go with Religious for now =)
 
I like em' all - this poll hurts my head...

I voted for Expansionist, as I've found that grabbing lots of land and possibly free techs is an awesome start. From folks' comments, Agricultural seems a better option. I haven't played C3C enough to form an opinion.

Someone sway me.....
 
I would have to disagree with the Indudtious/Religious combo
being best. Those two traits have been made worse in conquests
(for example, for Religious it's 2 turns in anarchy now) where as others(Scientific and Expansionist) have been improved.

Ind./Sci. is still my favorite combo, but I'd say Sci./Agr. is second
best.
 
There's still nothing worse than having 7 turns in anarchy as you try to race to the Hoover dam.

Because it was too good? It's nice to have many pretty equal things to choose from now.

I just love agricultural and I can pair it with anything.

1. Agri + Religion = Short anarchy, cheap buildings and celtic swordman :)

2. Agri + Commercial = Less corruption and 3-1-2 iroqueese unit :)

2. Agri + Industrous = Very fast start and I can expand really far. I really don't like the maya UU, but it doesn't matter.

2. Agri + Scientific. Sci is pretty good now and I like Sumerian UU too.

3. Agri + military (great aztec UU, acts like scout)
3. Agri + sea faring (great dutch UU and I like fast boats too)

4. Agri + exp isn't so good. Incan UU is pretty bad too.

You might have guessed it allready that I prefer aggricultural :P
