I don't know why, but in my personal altered civ3 strange looking obelisk type structures now appear on every civs starting location. At least I think they're obelisks. They're white with a little civ color aroind the top. I don't know what they are. Could be a light house maybe, or a momunent to Oblecon, god of obelisks. Like I said, I really don't know where they came from or what they are. But I wish they'd leave.

strange thing is I don't remember messing around with anything in the editor that would do that. Help ...?

Those are victory point locations. You should be able to turn them off in the starting page. Make sure that 'victory points' isn't checked.

Edit:

Does it look like this?

Oh, ok thanks. yeah, they do look like that.

I played the napolionicwhatever scenario first for a second, and I think because I accessed it through the "Civ-Content" button on the start menu all the boxes checked in that game start screen remained the same for my scenario. ...if you know what I mean

Yeah, that's kinda annoying. If you finish a conquest and then go to the regular game, instead of having the rules preset, you have to change them.

you know, my brother used to have a little pewter dragon that looked just like your avatar... wheres he from?

Yes, when you play one of the Conquests and then start a new game the defaults are that of the recently plaid Conquest, not those of your las regular Epic game. This can be very annoying, restart immediately and check that you have the proper victory conditions enabled. Playing hundreds of turns trying to win by Diplo(for example) only to find the UN unavailable can be very frustrating.

yes, that seriously could have sucked had I not noticed sooner. fortunetly, in this case, my settler was standing next by a giant obelisk. stupid, stupid obelisk
