Observer mode?

Is there any observer mode in worldbuilder, where you don't play any civilisation but can watch the AI play out the civilisation themselves. You can enter cities and see what the AI builds.
I know you can enter worldbuilder and see the current position. But is there a mode where you don't have to go into worldbuilder every turn to watch the game. Alternatively play as a insignificant civ like Maya or Japan and have a cheat that reveals the worldmap and the AI cities. In civ 2 there was such a mode.

I'm too lazy to play, but I like to watch the civilizations Rhye's and Fall

you can write game.AIplay X in the console (X = number of turns)

Set cheatcode = chipotle in the civ .ini file, restart, and press Ctrl-Z in-game to reveal everything. Sort of like Worldbuilder, but it stays on while you play.

How do you open console? I've tried shift-~ on my keyboard, shift-~ on the American layout, no luck.

if you have a English UK layout, switch to English US for Civ IV, then you can use the ` which turns into the magical ~.
