I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has done this but I enjoy One City Challenge except for the fact you can't take much blood from your enemies so I've been playing occasionally with this twist:

Normal Once City Challenge except with bloodlust on
Once you have all the techs except for the Future Technologies you are able to go on the offensive and conquer the world.

To be honest the highest level I've played and won with this is on Prince Level but I enjoy it immensely.

Traditional OCC is hamstrung in conquest by the One City requirement. A few very skilled (and very patient) players have managed it by fast research to Espionage, which permits "poisoning the water supply" to lower city size down to where they can be wiped out conventionally. Otherwise you attack a city till the defenders are all gone, then wait for the city to rebuild a defender so you can kill them again. When cities are small this does not take long but most OCC games your enemies can grow faster than you can wipe them out. The main exception to this rule I've seen is when all the civs start on the same large continent and the human player takes the risk of large-scale hut-popping before settling down. A large force of mercenary units before 3000BC can make short work of most early AI settlements.
