Couldn't find an instance of this posted.

Loaded a hotseat multiplayer save after CTD.
Game details:
3 human players. 3 AI players.
P1 - Mongols; P2 - Persians; P3 - Greeks. AI - Rome, Russia, America.
Large map. Custom continents (1 continent for each player).
SOP because of frequent CTD's is for each of us to save after our turn, then after CTD: restart OS, restart game, and load 2nd latest save (to try to avoid corrupted saves).

Anyway, first time around (in an alternate timeline I suppose ;) ) Player 2 - Persia founded 19th city. It's named... something; he forgets, but it was normal. CTD before his turn ends. After CTD/restart/load save; Player 2 has to found the 19th city again. Second time around the name of the city is in file name format. I got stupid and didn't get a screenshot or write down the city name but it was something like 'ALT_TEXT_NAME_HELAT' Player 2 opted to rename the city Helat :)

Very odd. None of us have built a new city since, but if/when we do and if/when it comes up like this again, I'll try to get a screen for y'all.

Thanks,
frank

System Specs: (off the top of my head)
Geforce4 MX 440 64MB driver 81.85 (I know this because I update religously; you know Christmas and Easter :) )
512MB Ram
3 gHz processor (brand escapes me; in future posts I'll update)
SB Live! latest driver
Yes, I have the 'food only' bug, the 'frequent slow down that we try to exit out of but usually end in CTD' bug, Hotseat 'No Player 1 trade' bug, and an inconsistent music bug in hotseat (Player 1 normal, Player 2 none, Player 3 twice as loud as P1, LOL)

That has actually been mentioned somewhere, I forget where though. you posted this twice, too.

It's happened once to me when I was playing a singleplayer game. I also had a large amount of cities, as it was towards the end of the game. I've never seen it happen again though.

Ah, thanks. Had a timeout error when I tried to submit the thread the first time. Guess it went through anyway...

...tried to find the duplicate post but couldn't.

Guess a moderator cleaned it up.
