I was having problems with intermittantly missing/blacked-out leaderheads, mini-maps, military advisor maps and game replay maps. I tried unpacking the ART0 file, deleting cache, and installing the newest ATI drivers (5.10). Nothing worked.

Someone here recommended installing older Omega drivers to resolve these problems. I would just like to say, "Thank you!"

I tried installing the newest Omega drivers first, but they had little effect (the missing leaderheads were red now instead of black and the maps were still missing most of the time). Then I tried installing an older Omega version (from 3d Guru) and it worked wonderfully.

One thing I will note though, the older drivers installed an application called "Rad Link" that the newer drivers lacked. Might this be something that helped the situation? Also, the older drivers did not place a short-cut icon in the system tray. Could that application be the issue?

Another thing I noted was that my Radeon card (a Sapphire 9600 PRO) always seemed to installed TWO drivers, a primary (AGP) and a secondary (PCI). It was an AGP card, so I simply disabled the PCI/secondary driver in my Hardware Profile. Might this have affected the problem (for good or ill)?

Again, thank you for your hints, tips, and suggestions!

(Edit: I would like to mention, however, that these older, "optimized" drivers now cause City of Heroes to lock up on me, usually in the middle of combat. So installing these older drivers may not be the best solution for people who play multiple games. But it is an effective solution for the CivIV graphics problems I was having.)
